Margot Homan (Oss, 1956) is a prominent Dutch figurative sculptor, known for her refined and emotionally charged human figures. In her sculptures, she combines a classical mastery of anatomy and form with a contemporary, personal visual language. Homan was trained at the Academy of Visual Arts in Tilburg and subsequently immersed herself intensively in classical sculpture. Her great interest in the Italian sculptural tradition led her to Pietrasanta, the famous artists' village in Tuscany that has been connected to the marble quarries of Carrara for centuries and where many internationally renowned sculptors work.
She lives and works alternately in Tilburg and Pietrasanta. In Italy, she collaborates closely with specialized artisans and bronze foundries. Her sculptures are executed in materials such as bronze and marble, where traditional craftsmanship forms an essential part of the final artwork.
